I’ve been wondering why the so-called Christians on the Right oppose health care reform. They seem to care nothing about the 50 million Americans that are uninsured and the millions more under-insured.
Now the Christian Liberals are getting involved in the Health Care debate in a positive way:
DALLAS (Reuters) – Liberal religious groups announced on Monday they are teaming up with President Barack Obama in a national campaign to counter the surprisingly vehement conservative opposition to his plan for overhaul of the U.S. healthcare industry this year.
Organized by liberal-leaning evangelicals, some mainline Protestant clergy, and some Catholic groups, it will include Obama participating in a call-in program with religious leaders streamed on the Internet on August 19, prayer meetings and nationwide television ads.
“As a pastor I believe access to healthcare is a profoundly moral issue,” Rev. Stevie Wakes of Olivet Institutional Baptist in Kansas City, said in a news teleconference announcing the “40 days for Health Reform” campaign.

Perhaps instead of worrying about the “War on Christmas”, Christians would do well to remember the words of Jesus:
Matthew 25:35-40 (Amplified Bible)
35 For I was hungry and you gave Me food, I was thirsty and you gave Me something to drink, I was a stranger and you brought Me together with yourselves and welcomed and entertained and lodged Me,
36 I was naked and you clothed Me, I was sick and you visited Me with help and ministering care, I was in prison and you came to see Me.
37 Then the just and upright will answer Him, Lord, when did we see You hungry and gave You food, or thirsty and gave You something to drink?
38 And when did we see You a stranger and welcomed and entertained You, or naked and clothed You?
39 And when did we see You sick or in prison and came to visit You?
40 And the King will reply to them, Truly I tell you, in so far as you did it for one of the least in the estimation of men of these My brethren, you did it for Me.
And the Lord said, Take thy neighbors money on the left and give it to thy neighbor on the right. You wont enter the Gates, but you’ll haveth more money for Keno.
