I wonder if Rahm Emanuel and Barack Obama know that there are no Republicans that are going to vote for Obama in 2012, much less for members of Congress in 2010? You would think Obama was confident of Republican votes the way that he is shrugging off Democrats and Independents as if they do not matter.
It’s great that Obama will have health care money and insurance company money to wage his 2012 campaign. But, in this country, dollars do not get to vote. People do. And for that reason alone, President Barack Hussein Obama is already a Lame Duck President.
He promised health care reform. He gave it away, and allowed Senators to be bought by corporate interests without criticism. Yet, every person that has stood up to these Senators, to the Blue Dogs in Congress, to Joseph Lieberman, to Max Baucus, have all been roundly criticized as being misinformed or incompetent. Today the charge was leveled at Howard Dean. Excuse me, that’s “Howard Dean, M.D.”. He has been thoroughly dismissed as a fool, an idealogue, and someone who does not have command of the details of the health care reform bill:
“I don’t know what piece of legislation he is reading,” said Gibbs.
“I would ask Dr. Dean, how better do you address those who don’t have insurance: passing a bill that will cover 30 million who don’t currently have it or killing the bill?” he added. “I don’t think any rational person would say killing the bill makes a whole lot of sense at this point.”
Asked if Dean was acting irrationally, Gibbs replied: “I can’t tell what his motives are, to be honest with you.”

In spite of what Gibbs says, Dean is right. There are no cost controls. There is only a mandate that every American buy health insurance, no matter what the price, and with no guarantee of services. This is a gift for the insurance companies, who have been rewarded handsomely for their “donations” (read: “bribes”) to Congress.
This is worse than what we have now. The Senate bill needs to be killed. Our members of the “House of Lords” have totally prostituted themselves, exchanging money for the lives and well-being of over 307 million Americans. They will not be remembered kindly by history, nor at the polls in the coming elections.
