CNN Caters to “McVeigh Republicans”

CNN gave us Glenn Beck in the name of a “balanced viewpoint”. When it was obvious that he had no real place on television or cable news, Fox News welcomed him with open arms and Beck became their ideological superstar.

It looks like the same thing is going to happen with Erik Erickson, the Tea-Party-loving, Glenn Beck-worshiping, misogynist, racist “Timothy McVeigh Republican”. He and his Tea-Party people are cowards to the core. They love to hate, they love to kick, and they love to kill, but only as members of a mob. They lack true courage, so they over-compensate by using violent and hateful speech to give the impression that they are real “tough guys”.  They speak of fighting, lynching, and eliminating their enemies.  Erickson has said that Barack Obama should be sent to a “Death Panel”.

This Erik Erickson is now being offered valuable air time on CNN’s John King’s show.  I guess he will be really auditioning for his own spot on Fox News.  I suspect that the corporate networks are slowly replacing any voice of reason with these over-the-top characters, not as a ratings vehicle, but as a way to squelch any opposition to corporate control or regulation.

The Tea Party people like Erik Erickson are sociopathic bullies, who cannot feel empathy for their fellow man. You can see this in the video below. He is the exact clone of Timothy McVeigh, a person who wanted to hurt Americans because he felt that no one was taking him seriously. Erickson derives all of his meaning as the leader of this “movement”. He’s mad as hell and he’s not going to take it anymore, and his followers love that he seems to represent a person of strength.  But like Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck, all he has is tough, incendiary words that are meant to impress followers with weak minds.

I’m a little surprised that people like Erickson have not already anointed and crowned Dick Cheney as their Czar.  He has to be the embodiment of everything that they love.  Here’s a few choice quotes from Erik Erickson courtesy of Alternet:

Erickson claimed President Barack Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize because of “affirmative action quotas” (Think Progress, 10/9/09).

He suggested “feminazis were enraged” by an anti-abortion Super Bowl ad because “that’s what being too ugly to get a date does to your brain.”

He urged that “ugly feminists return to their kitchens” (Media Matters, 2/8/10).

He’s a homophobe who asserted that “the full gay rights agenda” means that “men and boys can have sexual relationships free of prudish moral people frowning” (Media Matters, 10/9/09).

Upon Justice David Souter’s retirement, Erickson called him “the only goat-fucking child molester to ever serve on the Supreme Court” (Crooks and Liars, 5/1/09).

He declared that White House spokesperson Linda Douglass “really is the Joseph Goebbels of the White House healthcare shop” (TPM, 10/12/09).

Meanwhile, he suggested that Obama might be worse than Hitler, writing, “Does it say more about the IOC or Obama that the IOC gave Hitler the Olympics, but not Obama?”

As if that weren’t enough, he’s also an advocate of political violence (Yglesias, 4/1/09):

Here’s a clip giving you some insight as to what Erik “McVeigh Republican” Erickson,  has to offer to the viewers of CNN:
