The Faux Fox Lays an Egg

Fox News has been in quite a lather since Jon Stewart appeared with Chris Wallace on Fox News. They have accused Jon Stewart of making fun of Herman Cain, not because he is black, but because he is a “black conservative”. It’s interesting that they made it clear that they are defending conservatives, not black people.

Jon Stewart, in his own playful fashion, aired the video clips of Fox News attacking him. Their claims that he was inappropriately using a black accent when describing Herman Cain led Jon to show that he indeed uses ethnic accents all the time. In fact, it’s part of his shtick. This video was too good to pass up. Here it is so that it may become a part of my permanent record:

Note that Jon Stewart has dozens of media clips at his disposal. You would think that, like Jon Stewart, Fox would have thousands of video clips ready to prove their point of liberal bias.

No, they don’t. The don’t know how Jon does it. How does he get those video clips with people incriminating themselves with their own words? All that Fox News could come up with was a clip of Diane Sawyer misrepresenting the Arizona immigration law, and they played the clip on Jon’s interview with Chris Wallace. Sawyer said something like this:

Diane Sawyer: “If they think you look like you are here illegally, then they can check your papers.”

Fox News cried foul, went into a seething rage, and explained that this Diane Sawyer and the crazy liberal media had it all wrong. It wasn’t like that at all. Instead the immigration law goes like this: “If you are stopped for a tail-light being out, then they can ask for your papers.”

What was sad about the interview with Chris Wallace is that Fox News does so little media research to learn the facts about what is going on, that they thought they had to watch a bunch of episodes of South Park (a Fox program) to catch signs of liberal bias when the shows are re-run on Comedy Central. Chris Wallace said that they had to watch a lot of shows they didn’t care for, including South Park. Well, I’m not going to tell them if you won’t.

Jon Stewart and every other news organization know that you use a media search engine. You don’t have to watch entire shows to see if there are any clips you can use. But there was Fox, wading through the morass of liberal media, trying to find examples of bias, because they didn’t know about search engines.

Sometimes, you only wish that the people at Fox News could see themselves as others see them. No, that would be torture, and I don’t believe in torture.
